Pollution, grime or other environmental problems

The share of the population experiencing pollution grime or other environmental problems in the area where they are living is bellow the EU average by 2.3 percentage points at 11.8% in 2012. The regional average is stands at the nearly the same level with 14%. However the share has increased in 2011 by 1 percentage point and it is important to look out for the continuation of the trend. A mark 5 would have been given for a slight increase as compared to 2008. Economic crisis and periods of GDP contraction should be seen as a chance to stop pollution.
